One of the people I have got to know through this is Roger Rowe. Roger programmes the Norfolk & Norwich Chamber Music Group and gradually I have realised that he is not only hugely respected but also has the most fantastic book of contacts in the music world. Bit by bit I have learned names of groups he brings to Norwich that I later see are also performing at the Barbican or Festival Hall like Kronos Quartet for example. Chamber group concerts at the John Innes Centre are normally a sellout but Roger also programmes for a much smaller venue, a converted chapel in Park Lane, Norwich. A tiny but very pretty place and on most Sunday (and other) evenings there are concerts.
If you are at all curious about chamber music, this has to be a good place to start. If you are an enthusiast you shouldn't miss this series.
The next two chapel concerts are piano recitals by distinguished musicians.
WILLIAM HOWARD is the pianist of the highly respected Schubert Ensemble of London and FINGHIN COLLINS is a much talked-about young Irish pianist who will be presenting a pre-view of his Wigmore recital on 14th June – not to be missed.
