Sometimes I get asked to advise people on how to develop their creative business or career, mentor people starting out, coach people who want to achieve something specific or generally help to brainstorm or make connections using my knowledge and experience.

Usually I am happy to help out with an informal conversation but sometimes people need more sustained input. I am not a qualified coach or counsellor* but if you want to arrange a few individual sessions with me, I can offer the following at the rate of £30 an hour:

• General advice and mentoring
• Coaching for a specific event, interview etc
• Review of portfolio or material for exhibition/job/college or other  application
• Review and editing of CVs, web copy, funding application or other written material
• Input to the development of an idea or plan for a project, company or organisation
• Any other 1:2:1 advice or input using my years of experience in the cultural sector

This work can be as formal or informal as you choose. I can set you homework, or we can just have a chat. It is up to you.

*A note on ethics
Some people have spent a lot of hours and commitment to become fully-qualified coaches and business consultants. I am not qualified in this way. 

I am confident to offer advice to people because I have experience and wisdom which I am able to pass on. I do have a teaching qualification and understand how people learn and am a good communicator. In the past, I have found it difficult to find people who can advise me in the arts and cultural sector. This is why I am offering the benefit of my experience in this way.

I am not qualified but I am trustworthy, experienced and professional and will contract with you on that basis.

Help to build your own website

• Do you need to get on the web but get frustrated because you don't have any coding skills?
• Do you need a website but can't afford hundreds of pounds
• Do you get frustrated because you can't update a site yourself?

I can help you to set up and maintain your own low-cost but effective and fully-functional website.

I build and maintain many websites myself. I use an easy-to-use site-building platform and offer training sessions to get you up and running.

I can get you started with a two-hour session which costs £60. Once you have got started, you will be able to run a site yourself, or come back to me for advice if you need more help

In two hours, I will help you set up a basic site and show you how to edit it. I will help you buy a domain name if you don't already have one, for a few extra pounds.

The site-building platform I use is free and dependable (with an optional paid for Pro version) and it includes hosting.

You will need your own content so visual identity/logo, copy, photographs etc. I can also help you with this if you require albeit at an extra cost.
