I am finally going to submit a cultural briefing to the LGiU  and I am hoping it is what they want. This is the first I have written and I hope that they like it and that I can do more. It is about the changes in how arts funding from the arts council has changed in the last year and also their priorities in touring and getting excellent work into neglected communities and geographical areas.

Tomorrow, I am going to speak to Christine at the Bill Douglas Centre as I am pitching for some work there, and after that I will go and meet Harry Harrold of Neon Tribe (have a look at the Neon Tribe website), to talk about the project and hopefully lunch with the lovely Mitch from the Writers' Centre on the way. They are really all so nice at WCN, my favourite people to work with. Almost. 

Then maybe a cup of tea with Peter Beck to see if we can get something going on touring and Foolhardy Folk Circus. Busy day.

I don't think that we have any idea of how this will pan out. It is not so much that the cultural world has changed - it is about the way that it is changing. It has not stopped and it is changing at a pace that we cannot keep up with. It is hard to tell if it is the Government's policies. the economy, the digital revolution that is changing every corner of our lives. Not just the way we interact with the arts but the way we live our lives, our culture in the true sense.

Our culture is changing, the way we do things, the way we see the world. Our traditions, values, habits, stories are all changing. Very rapidly. And as creative people it is up to us to lead the way to how we can get the most for our society out of these changes.
