Today I went on an SEO course where we were taught by the effervescent and friendly Duncan Johnson of Yodelay SEO company. The course was run by OUTSET Norfolk and was free for me to attend which was great. Duncan showed us ways to bring our websites up the rankings, and how to do a lot for ourselves without having to pay an SEO company such as Yodelay.
This is really important for artists and small creative start-ups who are trying to get going without a large outlay. I count myself amongst them and so was glad to get this really useful free but high quality help. Met some nice people too.
The 6 basic things to do to raise your site up the Google rankings are pretty straightforward but Duncan siad that the most important single thing is blogging - what I am doing right now. Telling people what you are up to, what you know and what you think might be useful to them. Passing on knowledge. It is what Culture Shift is all about so wait and see if the site becomes easier to find!
