As well as all that I got a new edition of Norwich Magazine through my door (as I have subscribed to it, and so should you *wags finger* and it was great to read about all the stuff that has been going on. http://www.norwichmagazine.co.uk
But the real pièce de resistance for the day was the launch of Norfolk and Norwich Festival at Theatre Royal. Apart from being the arts networking and social event of the year, it is the start of a couple of months of trying to juggle dates, times, preferences and budgets. I used to treat it as a spring holiday crossed with professional development on steroids and budgeted to spend a couple of hundred pounds on tickets. But in the age of austerity I have had to cut that back. However, this year, I think I will be looking carefully through the brochure for the left-field gems, which is what I like.
Such as a hotel in the treetops at Holt Hall, that sounds fun and the dance show in a car park, Motor Show by the people that did Electric Hotel a couple of years ago, 100% Norfolk, Nigel Kennedy, the Handsome Family – actually, there is so much stuff I can't even start to tell you so you will have to look on the website www.nnfestival.org.uk. But hurry up as I shall be booking my tickets ahead of you!
