Audience development and engagementAudience development is similar to marketing but with the aim of getting people involved in arts activities, rather than trying to sell them a product - though the two can become perilously close when you are trying to get bums on seats at a venue!
Before you can get people involved, you have to get them interested, and you have to make them feel safe and welcome - many potential audiences are very cautious about new things. You may want them as audience to watch something, or you may want them to get actively involved and to participate, say in a workshop or choir, theatre group or project etc. Project design and managementMore and more, organisations are surviving and operating on project funding and often need extra capacity to handle a short-term workload. The Shift has a wealth of experience enable us to hit the ground running to help you design, plan and implement a project or event such as a conference, production, social inclusion or skills development.
