Tilted Productions, Maresa von Stockert’s award-winning contemporary performance company, seeks to appoint an experienced part-time freelance Fundraising and Development Director to support the company at an exciting period in its development.
Working closely with the Artistic Director/CEO and the team, the Fundraising and Development Director is responsible for the strategic and business development of Tilted: fundraising, strategic development, overseeing financial management and statutory compliance. In particular the post-holder is responsible for identifying and securing the resources required to deliver the artistic and participation programmes.

Usual hours of work: This contract requires a commitment of a minimum of 24 days over the duration of the contract. A usual working day is 8hrs.

Symposium: Importing Knowledge, Exporting Talent - SeaChange Arts

SeaChange Arts in partnership with Circus Futures host their first annual major circus and street arts symposium as part of the 2014 Out There International Festival of Circus & Street Arts.
As one of the UK's leading international collaborators, SeaChange present a symposium programme of leading producers, promoters and artists. Together delegates and panels will explore ways in which the UK circus and street arts sector can learn from each other and from international colleagues to develop practice, opportunities and partnerships.

Call for Entries - Future Radio Next Big Thing 2014
The Next Big Thing is Future Radio's competition for new and emerging musical acts from the East of England.
With previous winners such as Ed Sheeran, The Kabeedies, Raevennan Husbandes and last years winner The Thinking Men, the competition is set to launch again from Monday 4th August; with acts able to submit entries until Friday 2nd September.

The AA2A project (Artists Access to Art Colleges) is offering 90 placements, giving artists and designer makers the opportunity to undertake a period of research or realise a project using art college facilities e.g. workshops, IT facilities, lending library, and lecture programme. AA2A schemes aim to benefit students and institutions through their interaction with practising artists. Understanding the Value and Impacts of Cultural Experiences - Literature Review
Arts Council England have published an international literature review that focuses on drawing together academically-robust research and influential policy papers from the past twenty years on the intrinsic value of arts and cultural experiences. It provides an overview of the commonly known frameworks and methodological approaches that have been used to investigate how individuals are affected by their experience of arts and culture. It also addresses value and quality from an organisational perspective: what do organisations that engage people in impactful experiences look like? How can the ‘quality’ of cultural organisations as a whole be assessed?

Appeal for Rural Case Studies - Arts Council England
The Arts Council is seeking to raise awareness of the potential of arts, museums and libraries to contribute to stronger local economies and communities, and to use this to lever in funding to help the sector make even more of a difference and to be more sustainable. This will require close working between those organisations and authorities which are responsible for the development of communities and places, artists and cultural organisations, and the communities themselves. The Arts Council believes that life in all areas of the country can be made better through culture. ACE are working at the moment to highlight good practice where arts and culture are making a difference to rural communities. This is designed in part to help Local Action Groups (LAGs) consider how they can engage with arts and culture to support the ambitions that they have for rural communities as they develop and then implement their Local Development Strategies.
The Arts Council would like to hear from artists and cultural organisations, LAGs, local authorities and others who would be prepared to provide a case study which can be shared with others. Case studies should focus on experience of how arts and culture has helped to develop a rural community – socially or economically – within the last 5 years. As this is designed to support LAGs we would especially welcome case studies of projects and activity delivered under the LEADER approach and using resources from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).
Case studies should include the following:
- Aims and objectives of the project or programme
- Who was involved in the delivery partnership
- Where the project or programme was delivered
- The resources that were dedicated to delivery – whether cash or in kind – and where they came from
- What the outcomes were, and how they were captured or evaluated
- Any particular experiences or learning which you consider it would be useful to share with others
15 for 2015 Competition to Boost Your Freelance Business
The 15 for 2015 competition has been set up to appeal to the UK's estimated five million self-employed people. The initiative will reward 15 exceptional freelancers with recognition and a package of business support to help them grow their enterprise.
Through the competition, the sponsor wants to identify 15 'independent minds' that will represent the diversity of the nations' self-employed in 2015.
The competition judges will select 15 winners to receive a wide-ranging package of business support including financial advice, free tech, and other professional support services provided by the competition's sponsors. The overall winner will also be awarded £5,000 to grow their business.
The £5,000 can be used to invest in a home office, update technology or anything else that will help the winner to reach their full potential.
The final 15 will be invited to a celebratory event taking place at LSO St Luke's in the heart of Tech City in East London in November, where they will be showcased as the most exciting independent professionals working in the UK today.

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust
The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust has announced that it is seeking to support individuals working in education that would like to visit other countries to see how their education systems work and are in a position to disseminate the new knowledge and examples of best practice for the wider benefit of their community and the UK. The Trust offers opportunities in three areas:
- Individuals working in educations that are interested in visiting projects overseas which improve the educational achievement of students aged 5-19, with a particular emphasis on English, Maths, Science and Technology at a primary level

2015 Call for European Cooperation Projects for the Cultural Sector Now OpenGrants are available for transnational cultural cooperation projects which support the capacity of the European cultural and creative sectors to operate transnationally and internationally and to promote the transnational circulation of cultural and creative works as well as the transnational mobility of cultural and creative workers and artists.
A budget of around €38 million is available for this Call which is subject to the availability of appropriations following the adoption of the 2015 budget.
In particular, grants are available to:
- Support actions providing cultural and creative players with skills, competences and know-how that contribute to strengthening the cultural and creative sectors, including encouraging adaptation to digital technologies, testing innovative approaches to audience development and testing of new business and management models.
- Support actions enabling cultural and creative players to cooperate internationally and to internationalise their careers and activities in the EU and beyond, when possible on the basis of long-term strategies.
- Provide support to strengthen European cultural and creative organisations and international networking in order to facilitate access to professional opportunities.
- Support international cultural activities, such as for instance exhibitions, exchanges and festivals.
- Support the circulation of European literature with a view to ensuring the widest possible accessibility.
- Support audience development as a means of stimulating interest in and improving access to European cultural and creative works and tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Audience development seeks to help European artists/cultural professionals and their works reach as many people as possible across Europe and extend access to cultural works to under-represented groups. It also seeks to help cultural organisations adapt to the need to engage in new and innovative ways with audiences both to retain them, to build new audiences, diversify audiences including reaching current "non-audiences", and to improve the experience for both existing and future audiences and deepen the relationship with them.
The maximum duration of projects is two years.

Revised Youth Music Programme Available for England
Registered charities, not-for-profit organisations and profit-sharing organisations that are based in the UK and delivering projects in England can apply for the following funds:
- Fund A - grants of between £2,000 and £30,000 are available for between six and 24 months.
- Fund B - grants of between £30,001 and £200,000 (to a maximum of £100,000 per annum) are available for between 12 and 36 months
- Fund C - grants of between £50,000 and £180,000 per annum for 36 months are available.
- Developmental music-making projects for children and young people - music-making activity that achieves personal, social and musical outcomes for children and young people aged up to 25 years in challenging circumstances.
- Strategic work to support the development of the workforce, organisations and the wider sector - support for projects that achieve positive outcomes for organisations and the workforce to ensure that high-quality sustained and progressive music-making opportunities exist for young people.

The Ernest Cook Trust Grants Programme
Schools, charities and not for profit organisations wishing to encourage young people's interest in the countryside and the environment, the arts or aiming to raise levels of literacy and numeracy can apply for funding to the Ernest Cook Trust (ECT). The Trust operates two grant making programmes. The small grants programme (under £4,000) supports state schools and small registered charities which would like to undertake projects which meet the Trust's objectives and require a small amount of pump-priming in order for such projects to take place and a larger grants programme for grants in excess of £4,000. Meetings to consider applications for the small grants programme take place bi-monthly throughout the year. The full board of Trustees meets twice a year, in April and September, to consider grants in excess of £4,000. Grants in the past have been awarded towards the purchase of IT equipment in schools, clothing and equipment for outdoor learning, using drama to raise learning achievements; etc. Grants are normally awarded for one year only.

Diversity Fund - Creative Skillset
Creative Skillset, the training and skills body, has launched a bursary programme to promote diversity in the creative industries.
The new Diversity Fund will grant up £1200 (£1600 for people with disabilities) for individuals in England who want to access training and skills development.
Up to 900 bursaries will be granted in a bid to address barriers to entry and progression, and re-balance representation and diversity in the business.
The Diversity Fund (England) will directly support people from under-represented groups to take the next step in their careers by funding up to 80% of the cost of training and professional development.
It is funded by the government-backed Employer Ownership of Skills Pilot (EOP2) and is one strand of a series of diversity programmes across the creative industries, including internship and training programmes as well as a leadership scheme for LGBT creative professionals.
Individual grants will be available to people with at least one year of professional experience who belong to at least one of the specified under-represented groups: women, disabled people and Black Asian and non-white Minority Ethnic (BAME) people. Funding is available for training - primarily short courses and bespoke training solutions - for people working in computer games, fashion and textiles, advertising and marketing communications, publishing, VFX, radio, animation, interactive media, facilities, photo imaging, TV and film.
The fund announcement is an open call, with the first tranche of applications open online untilFebruary 2015. Applicants are encouraged to contact Creative Skillset for advice and assistance in making an application, with large print and braille application materials available.

The Garfield Weston Foundation helps small, local community organisations and covers a wide range of charitable activity. Areas funded include: education, arts, health, environment, community, youth, religion and welfare. Grants of up to £50,000 are available. There are no formal deadlines for submitting applications. Golsoncott Foundation grants are available to voluntary sector organisations in the UK for projects that promote fine arts and music. Collections Volunteers - Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology, University of Cambridge
Within the next five years the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology (MAA) will be undertaking a large-scale movement of their on-site stores.
To improve documentation in anticipation of this move, MAA are recruiting a team of volunteers for the month of September 2014 to barcode all boxes and update storage locations using the collections management system. This work will be conducted in both the archaeology and anthropology stores and may provide an opportunity to view a variety of objects. Volunteers are likely to work with both archaeology and anthropology collections.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are interested in a museum career to gain valuable experience in the practical elements of collections management.
Volunteers from all backgrounds and experience are welcome, especially those who have an interest in archaeology and/or anthropology.
This role will involve being on your feet for most of the day, manoeuvring trolleys, climbing ladders and carrying heavy boxes.
This project will run from 1 - 30 September. Volunteer hours will be confirmed upon acceptance to programme, but are likely to be 9.30am to 4.30pm, with appropriate breaks. Ideally, MAA would like volunteers who are able to participate in this project five days per week.
